Gulberwick Septic Tanks

Project Overview

We are investing in the sewer network which will improve the wastewater network for customers in Gulberwick.
As part of the progress of this work we require to submit a planning application to Shetland Islands Council. Details of the planning application will be posted on the relevant pages of the Shetland Islands Council website in due course.  Subject to approval, these works are planned to commence in 2024. We will write to you nearer the time with further details regards these works.

Why We Are Doing This

 This project will ensure we can continue to serve the customers of Gulberwick and protect the environment for many years to come.

What We are Doing

These works involve the construction of 4 new septic tanks and associated chambers and pipework as well as 2 new sewers in the fields to the west of the existing Pumping Station. Works also involve the renewal of approx 15m of outfall pipe. The current pumping station will be abandoned as part of these works.
