At this location:

We are updating a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) and associated pipework.

There is a history of localised flooding during extreme weather. The CSO will safely divert excess storm water protecting homes and businesses.

Update January 2025

We started site investigation work in Springwell Place in October 2024 which was expected to take approximately six weeks.

However, a decision was made to move directly into the delivery phase, installing the new pipework without further delay. This phase is programmed to be completed by the middle of February under the current road closure arrangements.

Local access for businesses and residents has been maintained throughout these works. We will then move onto High Street to begin installing the new upgraded sewer under 4-way temporary traffic lights on Monday 17 February 2025.
