Project Overview

Scottish Water will be carrying out upgrade work to existing water pipes on Forest Road in Cumbernauld on behalf of Bellway Homes.

The work will support community growth and ensure customers continue to enjoy fresh, clear drinking water for years to come.

A section of Forest Road will be closed from Tuesday, 13 May, for approximately 13 weeks.

The work will be delivered by Mackenzie Construction on behalf of Scottish Water Horizons.

What to expect

Most of the work is being carried out on private land next to Forest Road, with no impact on residents, road users, or local businesses.

However; to allow for the installation of a brand-new water main, a section of Forest Road will be closed from Tuesday, 13 May, for approximately 13 weeks.

Access to local businesses – including the Esso Garage on Forest Road – will still be available during the works.

There will also be a temporary closure to a footpath. The first 70 metres of the footpath from Forest Road leading to Palacerigg will be closed from Monday, 31 March for approximately five weeks.

Scottish Water thanks local residents and road users for their patience and understanding during these essential works.
