Project Overview

On behalf of Perth & Kinross Council, our commercial subsidiary Scottish Water Horizons, are carrying out essential upgrades to the sewer infrastructure which serves Broxden Business Park in Perth.

The project involves the installation of over a kilometre of new foul sewer, connecting a pumping station in Tweed Place to the gravity sewer in Glasgow Road. Once complete, this work will enable the pumping station and associated infrastructure to be transferred into the long-term ownership and care of Scottish Water.

These upgrades will allow us to continue to meet customers in the areas waste water needs for years to come, while also reducing risk of localised flooding.

Phase 2 of the project is now underway along Glasgow Road

Why this work is needed

The work being carried out is essential to connect the foul sewer network at Broxden Business Park to the city’s main sewer system, so that we can ensure it continues to serve customers well for years to come.

As well as enabling the pumping station and associated infrastructure to be transferred into the long-term ownership and care of Scottish Water, this project will also help reduce the risk of flooding in the Lamberkine Drive area.

Latest Project Update

The first phase of work at the junction of Mailer Way with Glasgow Road has been completed and Phase 2 is now underway, with Phase 3 beginning in June.

The second phase of work involves 2 way traffic lights being in place on Glasgow Road for approximately 9 weeks to allow work to be carried out safely.

Phase 3 is expected to begin on Monday 17th June, starting with an overnight road closure in place on a section of Lamberkine Drive for approximately 4 weeks. This closure will be between the hours of 8pm-6am and 3-way traffic lights and temporary pedestrian crossings will be in place at the roundabout to allow vehicles and pedestrians to safety travel past the works.
