Rosebery Crescent/Haymarket Terrace Edinburgh
We are continuing our urgent sewer repair work in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh.
During investigations on a damaged section of sewer beneath Rosebery Crescent, we identified further damage extending to the main sewer connection on Haymarket Terrace.
Due to the size of the pipe and the depth it is buried - three metres - we have to close part of the road to carry out the work safely.
Road Closure Updates
Rosebery Crescent:
- From Monday 7 October 2024 Rosebery Crescent remains closed to all vehicles between Haymarket Terrace and Rosebery Crescent Lane.
- Diversion signs are in place and we ask all road users to follow the signs.
- Pedestrian access is maintained and customers can still access the car park off Rosebery Crescent Lane.
Latest Update – December 2024
The lane closure on Haymarket Terrace has now been fully lifted and our site footprint has been reduced to focus solely on Rosebery crescent after the sewer was repaired and footpath successfully reinstated on Haymarket Terrace.
We are working hard to have Phase 1 – from 1b Rosebery Crescent to Haymarket Terrace – complete before the Christmas break.
This will allow the site to be clear and Rosebery Crescent to be fully reopened over the festive period.
We will then return in the new year to complete Phase 2 which is outside Rosebery Crescent Lane. Details will be confirmed as planning progresses.
We would like to thanks all residents, businesses and road users for their patience and understanding as we carry out this vital sewer repair.
