To allow for essential maintenance on the sewer network, we will be temporarily closing Lothian Road in Edinburgh.

The work will commence at 00:30 on Sunday 1 September, until 07:00 on Monday 2 September.

On Sunday 1 September between 00:30-04:30, a road closure will be in place on Lothian Road at the junction with Princes Street.

From 04:30 on Sunday 1 September, until Monday 2 September at 07:00, the road will partially re-open, however, there will be no right turn from Lothian Road onto Princes Street. Turning from Princes Street onto Lothian Road will also be reduced to one lane only during this time.

Unfortunately, there will be no vehicle access beyond the closure for the duration of the work, however, access for both pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

We have notified all businesses in the vicinity who may be impacted by the road closure.

During the period of work, noise levels will be minimised as much as possible.

Local residents should continue to use their water supply and drainage services as normal, which should not be affected by the work.

The work is being carried out by our alliance partner, Lightways.

We appreciate that this is a busy area of Edinburgh City Centre, and thank those impacted for their patience and understanding.
