Hope Street Sewer Repair

Down to One Lane

Hope Street is reduced to one lane between Bath Street and West Regent Street

Hope Street is reduced to one lane between West Regent Street and Bath Street to allow us to carry out some planned relining work on the main sewer.

However, a void in the road has been discovered that could cause a sinkhole and be extremely hazardous to road users if left unattended. Glasgow City Council has therefore granted permission under emergency powers to extend the scope of our traffic management to allow the void to be repaired safely.

Hope Street is still reduced to one lane, however there is no left turn from West Regent Street north onto Hope Street, and no right turn from Hope Street east onto West Regent Street.

We can only apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but it is the only way to carry out the repair keeping pedestrians, road users and our teams, safe.

Everything is being done to complete the necessary repairs as quickly as possible. Businesses are open as usual.

We would like to thank everyone affected for the patience and understanding.
