Project Overview

We will be carrying out essential infrastructure upgrades in Glencaple Village, located in Dumfries and Galloway. These improvements will enhance the capacity and resilience of our underground septic system, ensuring better protection against coastal flooding.

What we are doing

Our delivery partners, George Leslie, will be:

  • Decommissioning the existing septic tank, which is currently undersized and vulnerable to flooding.
  • Installing two larger underground septic tanks adjacent to the current location to increase capacity and reliability.
  • Implementing additional works to futureproof the site, addressing both flooding concerns and long-term asset protection.
  • Reprofiling the ground to raise the site level and reinforcing embankments to enhance stability and safeguard the new infrastructure.

These improvements will help ensure a more resilient wastewater system for the community, reducing flood risks and enhancing environmental protection.

At a glance

  • £2 Million Investment

"A coastal landscape with grassy and marshy terrain in the foreground. A stone wall extends into the water on the left, and a modern boathouse with a slanted roof is visible in the middle ground. To the right, there is a large, multi-story white building with several windows. The sky is clear and blue, and the scene is illuminated by bright sunlight."

Latest Update

We held a very successful Community Information Event in Glencaple on Thursday 13 February. Well attended by local residents, it was a great opportunity for us to speak to locals and hear their views. Thanks to all who managed along.

We will work with the community to minimise disruption and allay any concerns and improve our plans, where possible.

We expect to submit planning end of Feb/beginning of March.
