Road Traffic Management in Strathblane Road, Milngavie

Roadworks Generic

We are advising road users in the Milngavie, Bearsden and west Stirlingshire areas of road traffic management during improvement work on our water network.

A stretch of Strathblane Road (A81) in Milngavie, from near the Bankell Farm access road to near North Lodge, will be reduced from two lanes to one with temporary traffic lights from July 31 for around one week.

The road traffic management, which has been arranged in liaison with East Dunbartonshire Council’s roads department, will enable remedial work to be carried out on the carriageway.

We thank affected road users for their patience and understanding while the road traffic management is in place.

The work that requires the road traffic management is part of an ongoing project to improve services to more than 50,000 customers. We are investing in a multi-million pound project to ensure water quality to thousands of people in parts of East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire and West Stirlingshire areas by changing the source of their water supply from Burncrooks WTW to Milngavie WTW.

The investment project is being carried out for Scottish Water by its alliance partners Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA).
