Road Traffic Management

Road users are being advised of some road traffic management to enable Scottish Water upgrade works to continue on the local water network in Rankinston, East Ayrshire.

A 300m stretch of the B730 in Rankinston is closed from Rankinston Cottages to the junction of Little Mill Farm.

Temporary two-way lights are also in operation on a stretch of the B730 north of Little Mill Farm.

Challenging ground conditions in the area have meant that Scottish Water contractors Clancy need to excavate the roadway in order to lay a new stretch of water mains.

Safety is of paramount importance and this stretch of road must be closed for the safety of the public and workers.

Road users are asked to follow diversions in place and allow extra time for travel.

It is expected that road traffic management will be in place for around three weeks. All road traffic management has been agreed in conjunction with East Ayrshire Council.

The water main in the area is being diverted and upgraded while East Ayrshire Council rebuilds a bridge over the Water of Coyle.

These works are not expected to have any impact on normal water supplies in the area.

Local residents and road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out.
