Stevenston Rising Sewer Main Burst

Comprehensive Repair

As well as replacing 25 metres of pipe, an additional 70 metres will be relined to increase resilience against future bursts

We are carrying out an emergency repair following a burst on a rising sewer main on grassland close to Ardeer Primary school in Stevenston.

The extent of the damage to the underground pipe has been fully assessed and we are in the process of replacing a 25-metre section. In addition, to increase the resilience of the sewer we will be relining a further 70 metres, to reduce the chances of future bursts.

Tankers continue to handle flows from Saltcoats pumping station.

Work is progressing well, and we are grateful for the patience and understanding of customers.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) will be kept informed and up to date and everything will be done to minimise any impact on the environment and disruption for residents.
