Scottish Water is carrying out a £326,000 project to upgrade water pipes in Waterbeck to ensure customers continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water.

Part of the water network has been deemed to be coming to the end of its operational lifespan and when the project is completed it will greatly improve the resilience of the supply and will reduce the chance of pipes bursting.

The work is set to begin Monday 19th of February and is estimated to take 12 weeks to complete.

The project will be delivered by Caledonia Water Alliance and they will be replacing the water mains in phases, along the current road closure (B722), before completing works outside Carruthers.

We are working with Dumfries and Galloway Council, under their current road closure that is in place to minimise further disruption.

There may be a need to temporarily turn off customers water for short durations during the work, but all households affected will be given advance warning of this and advice as to how best to be prepared in advance.

We thank customers for their patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work.
