project statys delivery

Project Overview

Scottish Water continues the second phase of £40 million investment between Peterhead and Ellon to enhance the resilience of the water network.

The work - which involves upgrading almost 23km of trunk water main - will help ensure customers continue to enjoy fresh, clear drinking water for years to come, while also reducing the risk of pipes bursting.

Caledonia Water Alliance and AG Wilson are delivering this major investment on behalf of Scottish Water.

A975 at Chapel Hill - Updated March 2025

The final planned closure of the A975 will involve the closure of the A975 at Chapel Hill from Friday, 4 April until Monday, 7 April 2025.

Advance signage will be in place and local diversion routes will be implemented.

We have been liaising with the local bus company and can confirm that some services will be rerouted during the closure.

Service X63 (Aberdeen – Peterhead via Newburgh) and Service 61 (Aberdeen – Ellon/Peterhead) will operate as normal from Aberdeen to Newburgh (Main Street). Following this, it will re-route via School Road, B9000 and A90 to Bridgend Junction, then via unclassified road to Cruden Bay (Golf Road) and A975, followed by the normal route to Peterhead and vice versa.

Bus stops located on the A975 from Newburgh (Main Street, north of School Road/B9000) to South of Cruden Bay will not be served during the closure.

We would advise those looking for further information on bus timetables should contact Stagecoach Bluebird directly by phone on 01779 477979 or by visiting www.stagecoachbus.com/service-updates.

We thank all of those impacted for their patience and understanding while we carry out this vital work.
