The newest - and greenest - addition to Scottish Water’s vehicle fleet has taken to the road to help reduce carbon emissions and combat the effects of climate change.

Sniffer dogs are being used to help find leaking water mains for the first time in Scotland.

Iconic Scottish artist Steven Brown’s mascots ‘Betty’ and ‘Harris McCoo’ have helped local nursery children unveil a Top Up Tap in Ayr town centre, as part of Scottish Water’s initiative to encourage people to carry a reusable bottle and stay hydrated on the go.

£900,000 water mains upgrade commences in Stonehaven

The work, which will be carried out by the utility’s alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA), will see the rehabilitation of over 16 miles of mains using techniques such as mains lining, flushing of pipes as well as some pipe replacement as required.
